About the Job





Excellent employee-oriented commercial construction company based in Marietta seeks to hire an experienced Healthcare Superintendent with VERY LITTLE TRAVEL INVOLVED!  The healthcare superintendent we're looking for should have at least 7 years of experience working in hospitals, be ASHE certified and be up-to-date at a minimum on OSHA 10 Hour.  Candidate must be proficient in using a laptop or IPad for submission of timesheets, RFI's, daily and weekly reports, jobsite photo's, etc.  This position requires good communication skills and a personality suited for working in stressful environments such as occupied areas of a hospital.  The candidate must understand and have experience in Infectious Disease controls, maintaining negative air, clean separation  barriers, etc. necessary in hospital construction.  Carpentry and drywall/acoustical skills are required along with a working knowledge of hospital MEP systems and an eye for detail.  The candidate must understand the importance of jobsite safety and of maintaining a clean jobsite.  They must also understand construction scheduling, capable of working with the project manager to develop the schedule and have experience in managing compacted schedules through to completion.  Candidate must be a team player who works well with project managers, subcontractors, architects and end users...and be mentally and emotionally flexible to deal with the ever changing nature of hospital construction.  Also having experience in Class A/B tenant construction is a plus.





The superintendent will also be responsible for the following duties:





Direct the efforts of field personnel with a view to meeting deadlines


Ensure that all workers are provided with a schedule that they must work on


Handle labor procurement duties and ensure backups


Provide workers with information on how a project needs to be completed


Ensure that each team member is aware of quality standards and company policies


Make sure that workers are knowledgeable of work ethics and best practices


Hire and train site workers along with making sure that they understand safety issues


Create and maintain positive relationships with workers, customers, supplies, vendors and subcontractors


Identify and rectify job hazards on an immediate basis


Serve as timekeepers for time cards for the purpose of smoothing out payroll activities


Ensure that all workers on the site work in harmony and attempt to keep conflict at bay


Intervene during conflicts between members and exercise tact to ward it off


Verify that each subcontractor has successfully completed the project handled to them


Ensure that all required permits and licenses are obtained


Perform inspection of job sites and individual work duties


Ensure appropriate care and maintenance of construction tools and equipment


Company offers a salary to $105,000. plus company truck + expenses + excellent benefits including 401(k).
