NEWLY CREATED POSITION! Reputable and growing commercial real estate firm seeks to hire an Associate Controller to perform routine duties primarily dealing with least commission administration, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and assist the Regional Controller with day-to-day functions including expense reports and approvals, reconciliations, commission reports, etc. Position will be expected to use the assigned real estate accounting software (e.g., xRM, Workday, etc.) to perform various tasks. xRM is a proprietary system on which you will be trained. Any Workday experience considered a plus. The Associate Controller will work to ensure that all required duties as described below are being performed on a timely basis and deadlines are met. Qualified candidate will possess strong analytical, technology, communication and organizational skills. Position requires 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, and public accounting experience is highly valued. A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred and an accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA) or certified management accountant (CMA) is desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES...

LEASE ADMINISTRATION:

Primary responsibility is to review executed documents and use source documents to verify commission deals entered by broker admins into the accounting system, xRM.
Enter deals directly into xRM for teams who do not have dedicated broker admins.
Send all detail to Corporate for processing.
Obtain W-9's from outside brokers (for teams without administrative support).
Prepare and mail invoices to clients for commissions due (include modifications, if needed, and second half invoices (for teams without administrative support).
Be an expert with the commission process.
Manage the pipeline system including running reports, validating and modifying information, and $10K plus follow-up.

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE:

Back-up to Corporate deposits preparation (for regions where the need exists).
Review incoming checks to assign invoices.
Run accounts receivable report twice per month (or as requested by Controller) and follow-up on collection of past due amounts.
Prepare monthly AR variance report for Controller.

GENERAL / ADMINISTRATIVE:

Preparation and consolidation of financial statements, budgets and forecasts.
Establish and maintain internal controls.
Provide monthly, quarterly and year-end analysis for management.
Analyze and report cost variances.
Serve as a liaison between local producers, leadership and national accounting teams.
Effectively utilize the assigned real estate accounting software to perform required tasks.
Revenue and expense analysis.
Run and validate monthly production reports (Top 25, Commission Award, Production reports to Workday).
Handle Ad hoc reporting requests.
Work with / provide some xRM training for new Broker Admins.
Request expiring contract information for independent contractors who receive draw payments or additional monthly payments.
Work to ensure contract information is up-to-date so IC's are not over or under paid.
Work with P2P Assistant Controller to update contracts.

REQUIREMENTS...
