Established full service commercial real estate company in Duluth/Sugarloaf area seeks to hire an experienced Property Accountant. Company manages a diverse portfolio of 5M sf of retail centers, office buildings, flex properties and land throughout the SE. Qualified candidate will be responsible for full cycle property management accounting for a portfolio of assigned commercial properties. Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed for interaction with clients as well as accounting, leasing, and property management team members.

QUALIFICATIONS...

Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
Experience in property management or real estate accounting required (office, industrial and/or multi-family accounting experience acceptable).
Excel experience required and MRI and/or Yardi experience a plus.
Experience with commercial leases required.
Avid and ClickPay experience considered a plus.
Must be able to work productively with little direction or supervision.
Excellent organization and communication skills essential.

RESPONSIBILITIES...

Prepare accurate and timely financial statements with supporting documentation.
Review and approve accounts payable invoices in Avid. Ensure invoices are property coded, expenses to the correct property and period and cash type.
Research and answer Property Manager's questions regarding tenants, property income and expenses.
Generate recurring charges on the first of the month and upload tenant rent statements to payment portal.
Review operating statements and identify missing expenses needing accrual and/or coding errors.
Review and reconcile accounts receivable aging and supporting tenant ledgers.
Maintain reconciliations on balance sheet accounts.
Manage fixed asset schedules and record monthly depreciation and amortization.
Set up new leases in accounting software.
Review accounting portion of lease abstract for accuracy.
Prepare annual CTI reconciliations, ad-hoc reporting.
Work with Property Manager to prepare annual budgets for all properties and reforecasts as needed.
Assist Manager of Accounting with special projects as necessary.
Reconcile bank accounts.

Company offers $50,000 in salary plus + bonus + benefits.
