Established full-service commercial real estate firm located in Duluth off Sugarloaf Pkwy seeks to hire an experienced Property Accountant to join their accounting team overseeing a diverse portfolio of five million square feet of retail centers, office buildings, flex properties and land throughout the Southeast. Company specializes in asset and property management, landlord leasing, tenant representation, investment sales, as well as construction and development in partnership with a sister company.

The Property Accountant is responsible for full cycle property management accounting for a portfolio of assigned commercial properties involving frequent communication and interaction with clients as well as accounting, leasing, and property management team members.

JOB FUNCTIONS...

Preparing accurate and timely financial statements with supporting documentation.
Reviewing and approving AP invoices in Avid. Ensuring invoices are property coded, expensed to the correct property, period and cash type.
Processing and posting tenant cash receipts from ClickPay in accounting software.
Calculating Owner distributions several times per month.
Booking requested owner journal entries.
Posting tenant bill backs in the current period - Expense reimbursements and utility reimbursements.
Generating recurring charges on the first of the month and uploading tenant rent statements to payment portal.
Generating mid-month late statements and uploading to payment portal.
Setting up new leases in accounting software.
Reviewing accounting portion of lease abstract for accuracy in a timely manner.
Preparing annual CAM/Tax/Ins reconciliations and annual Water/Electric reconciliations.
Reconciling Bank Accounts.
Researching and answering Property Manager's questions regarding tenants, property income and expenses.
Working with Property Managers to prepare annual budgets for all properties and reforecasts as needed.
Responding to owner communication in a timely manner.
Assisting Supervisor with special projects as necessary, ad-hoc reporting as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS...

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience required.
Experience in property management or real estate accounting required.
MRI and Yardi experience required.
Excel experience required.
